1st August

I am on day 5 in Thailand and over the past few days I've been exploring the place where we've (me and my family of 19) have been staying - Koh Samui. Honestly I wouldn't want to go home, if it wasn't for my dogs who I miss so much!

Pool View:

Waterfall:

Buddhist temples:

Local bar/resturant:

Cocktails on the beach:

Today I took inspiration from the bright colours that are everywhere here and  I created this effect using all Models Own polishes and a fan brush- the technique is really simple, you really don't need to be an expert.

My cocktail matched my nails!

 I used :
Models own (polish for tans) Bikini - yellow

Models own (polish for tans) Beach Bag - peach

Models own (Ice neon) Bubblegum - neon pink

Technique:

1. Firstly I painted one coat of my first colour- beach bag onto each nail and waited for it to dry.

2. Next, I wet my brush and wiped the brush horizontally over some tissue in order to evenly seperate bristles on the brush.

3. Afterwards, I dipped the ends of the brush into the second polish - Bikini (which I put on a Pringles lid :') because it's disposable and makes the process much easier)

4. Using a horizontal motion I sweeped the polish across my finger in one direction, then picking up more polish I swiped back over the nail again hotizontally in the opposite direction.

 5. Next, clean the brush using nail varnish remover and repeat step 2.

6. Using the same technique, go in with the first colour again - Beach Bag and then the third colour - Bubblegum remembering to clean your brush after each colour change.

6. Finally go over sections of each nail with different colours, repeating the same technique to build up the pattern, then clean up the edges and add a topcoat.

I really like this design, If I had known how to use a fan brush I definatly would have done this sooner! I would also like to try this design out with other colours and also see what it looks like. What do you think? Would you try this design?

29th July

For this manicure I used an  Essie polish in the colour - Ruffles and Feathers. I got this in the summer collection and started wearing it again as it's my first day on vacation in Thailand!! I also used the white BARRY M nail art pen for the white lines. Finally I used the colour - Golden Rose by Avon to create the gold lines with the use of a striper brush, and a dotting tool for the dots.

For the lines I found it easy to do a dot in the middle of the nail for where I want the two lines to meet at and one dot either side of the centre where I want the two lines to start from. This way I found the straight lines were easier to achieve!

I really like this design, I think it's perfect for a getaway in summertime

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Hi all, firstly I will just apologise for the state of my blog - it's a mess, I know but I'm kinda in the process of changing it up and adding more more professional stuff to it. I wanted to go for a more clean, de-cluttered look and this is a blog post I needed to get up, so hopefully it will be finished by Monday.

Secondly, are you excited about Easter as I am ? Unfortunatley it means my college half term holiday is coming to an end and I have to go back on Tuesday :( but anyways on a happier note, I am here to bring you my EASTER NAIL ART  *YAY*

After going onto twitter I saw so many peoples amazing nail art and I couldn't pass on the opportunity to get my polishes out and have a go myself and I think I like them. What do you think?

For this design I used:

- Models Own
1.Snow White; base colour and bunny and chick details
2.Strawberry Tart; bunny and egg details

- NYC New York colour
1.Blue skies; base colour on bunny nail and detail on eggs

-Barry M
1.Lemon Ice Cream; chick and egg details
2.Nail Art pen - Black
3.Nail Art pen - White

-Nails Inc
1.Westbourne Grove; chick beak

So yeah, they were the polishes I used for this design, I had a lot of fun doing it! Have you done any Easter nail art? Will you be doing any? comment and let me know :)

Polish party : Spring Theme, Rocking Roses

Hey everyone and thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog,
I have been inactive for a very long time cause college is getting pretty tough with my exams fast approaching ahhhh! But I have found time this month to get my polishes out and do a design, I actually painted my nails yesterday and after a day in college I received many, many compliments on my nails even of my teachers! I really like this design it's very effortless but looks amazing which makes it even better and the great thing about it is that it dosent have to be neat doing the roses messy makes them look cooler :D so here's my design ...
Oh yeah I have been collecting cheaper polishes latley for a blog post and the turquoise colour on here is actually by NYC colour, I think it is in Blue sky... But it's very good for £1.75 and dries quickly and nicely, so if your looking to bulk up your collection for dirt cheap prices, from what I've tried of the range I would reccomend.
I took this photo whilst doing my work earlier and just stopped and decided to take a mini photoshoot of my nails, I wasted about a good 15 minutes!

I'm just gonna apologise, one, for the bad quality my cameras been broke for a while now and I'm so poor I haven't had the money to get it fixed so I've had to deal with phone camera :( and also two, for my hands gah! I don't choose the most flattering photos!

Anyways moving on. After seeing so many flowers designs ( and the polish party theme being spring) I decided to give the rose design a go, and for my first go I'm proud!
After some more practice I will get round to posting a 'how to ...' Post!

Anyways, I gotta go ( and do college work *boos* ) hope you like this design, if you do leave a comment below it will probably motivate my to do a how to post, but I'm feeling lazy lately so maybe not. Gosh I sound so bad!

Anyways speak to ya soon :)

Children in need

Hey everyone, so again I've been away for a while... but I'm back with a few if exciting things (well exciting for me ) I have joined the polish party and so every month I will do a nail design from the theme  of the month, this month is DISNEY, and I love Disney- who doesn't! So I will be posting that up sometime this week :D

also purchased a few new polishes, so I'm excited to review them a few include: a few from barry-m matte collection and a couple of models owns polishes! I already have heaps of ideas, so I sense a blog overload coming on hahaha, well it will compensate for my absence.

ANYWAYS...moving on I am bringing you a very late ( but better late than never ;D ) CHILDREN'S IN NEED nail design :

Children in need nails

So yeah I did these nails in the theme for children in need, and to do these I used:

- Snow White (models own)

- cobalt blue ( BarryM) - blue
- lemon ice cream ( BarryM) - yellow
- coral ( BarryM) - red
- BarryM nail art pen in black

- A random green polish in my collection

So there is my nails, this design was surprisingly very quick and easy to do, for the Pudsey bear:
1) paint 2 coats of lemon ice cream
2) paint a diagonal white stripe across the nail
3) outline bandage with nail art pen & add pudseys face detail
4) spot the dots onto the bandage and place a small white dot in his eye ( which you can see in the picture)
5) Finish with a topcoat to protect your design.

I got heaps of compliments on my nails and everyone loved them, maybe something to remember for next year and maybe something for me to remember not to post designs 2 weeks late :/

if you liked this nail design please comment and tell me what you think I'd love to hear, you can also tweet me @ItsNailORNever and you can find me on Facebook at Its Nail or Never, Instagram will hopefully be coming soon .

Surprisingly summery mani

Hi everyone,
I'm here showing you a nail art design I did a few weeks ago but because I have been so busy and have had hardly any time to write and blog posts. For my design I used Models own -Bubblegum from their ice neon collection, and also their wonderful white polish snow white I'm certainly not ready to trade in my bright colours for autumn colours  just yet! Even thought it's closer to Halloween than summer :) click the link at the bottom to take you to where you can buy it if you love it as much as I do!

Before we start just to say that in this mani was the first time I had ever had my nails square,  at first I liked it but nothing beats oval for me :p

I love this design and got so many compliments on it:

Pretty chuffed that models own retweeted this one :p

So to create this design I did it in 4 really simple steps :

1) Paint all your nails with Models own bubblegum from their Ice Neon collection ( all links at the bottom

2) using some form of tape ( I used masking tape) horizontally tape your nails and paint with Models own snow white

3) Paint uneven spots of the opposite colour onto your nails (surprisingly hard to explain!)

4) outline the spots by drawing scruffy C's with a nail art pen ( I used the Barry-M nail pen)

And that's how you create this wonderful girly mani, all that's left now is to add a glossy top coat or if you want to try out a matte look do it and make sure you mention @nailornever on twitter so I can see too!

Models own: Velvet goth - valerian review

Hey guys, thank you again for taking the time to look at my blog! Today I am reviewing Valerian from the new range of Models Own (my fav. brand ever!) If you don't already know the range is called velvet goth it features deep colours - deep purple, red, blue, green and black with chunks of different sizes of glitter in. The effect is a matte effect and dries reasonably quick, I wouldn't say it was bump free when it dries as the glitter in the polish makes it a tiny bit bumpy ( nothing that can't be smoothed out with a topcoat!) the formula is quite thick and I found it more difficult to apply than other collections of Models Own polishes in my polish collection- nevertheless it's certainly not hard to apply! But the end result is ABSOLUTELY beautiful and I am well and truly in love with this polish!

Matte effect -after 2 coats :

Close up of matte effect :

Glossy top coat

i have to say I prefer the nail varnish with a topcoat, it really brings out the glitter and I  think it makes it look more pretty and I also love glossy polishes :D . I also purchased 2 more polishes from the Velvet Goth range and took advantage if the boots offer, I will be reviewing those in a few days time! I also bought the Bubblegum ice neon colour which I love! And i am coming up with new designs to show you all!

I give Models Own - Valerian a ... 8/10 because I adore the polish soo much as blue is my favourite colour, and the glitter gives an amazing look but it's slightly thick and and a little uneven when applied. However it gives a great coverage, I can't wait to try the others out to show you all!
Until next time,

Lush Leopard print

Hello my lovely readers, I'm here bringing you my first basic tutorial on how I do leopard print nails. I always used to do them by painting it until I bought the Barry m nail art pen! It's amazing it is like a pen and dries very quickly so no waiting around for polish to dry! It's a mani must have!

Just want to apologise for my short, extremely unhealthy nails - I recently had a faze of acrylics and they destroyed my nails as you can see! My poor nails :(

Anyways moving on here it is :

Tip- when outlining spots, draw little C's around each side! It makes it very easy :) also don't forget little dots which adds to the effect.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! Do you like this design it's very girly and pink and I LOVE it, maybe it could be toned down with nude colours and brown leopard print for a less in your face look. Please try it yourself and see how easy it is and/or leave thoughts, ideas, comment as I'd love to hear for y'all.

Thankful!

Just wanna give everyone who has checked out my blog a big thanks!  means a lot you've had a look-so thank you.

I have had a change of plan about buying models own new ranges as when I went into boots they had sold out! :( so will have to order some offline when I get round to it.

New nail art tonight, after I finish 50+ pages in my book :( because I chipped my nails rock climbing today- had fun but my nails didn't! Hmm thinking an autumn flower/ leaf design!
